“Bagrat Galstanyan Takes to the Streets: Counting the Days of Protest alongside Pashinyan and Supporters”

Bagrat Galstanyan, announced by the editors of Public Television and President of the Public Council, Alek Simonyan, will continue to remain on the streets for an extended period of time. Galstanyan stated that he and others who support their cause, including Nikol Pashinyan and other remaining forces, will also stay on the streets and count the passing days. Simonyan addressed the incident on June 12, where protesters hung red ribbons on the speaker’s podium using loudspeakers. He emphasized that the act does not represent a lavish wedding, but rather a demonstration of public order. Simonyan also mentioned that while a large portion of the population gathered due to Demirtjian’s efforts, they did not receive substantial information and left. Simonyan believed that the use of loudspeakers, rather than the red ribbon, should have been a focal point in discussions surrounding the incident. He questioned whether the Public Council remained silent in other situations where loudspeakers were used. Furthermore, Simonyan argued that citizens have been suppressed by the authorities, leading to the adoption of extraordinary methods of protest. He questioned the authorities’ response to a red ribbon hanging while they continuously faced stone-throwing protests. Simonyan also shared his assessment that the protesters intended to write on the Public Council building as an act against the Prime Minister, the authorities of the Public Council, and the President of the Public Council.
