“Armenian Beekeeping Industry Secures Export of Bee Products to EU After Regulatory Changes”

The State Service for Food Safety of the Republic of Armenia has announced that changes have been made to the “AGRINFO” program, which involves the export of various bee products (such as bee pollen, royal jelly, propolis, honeycomb, etc.) from Armenia to European Union countries. Beekeepers and companies engaged in beekeeping who aim to export these products must receive a corresponding certificate, and the list of certified companies will be transferred to the European Commission and published in the TRACES system. Starting from November 29, 2024, only the companies listed on the website will be allowed to continue exporting honey.

More information can be found in the AGRINFO bulletin, which is accessible through the provided electronic link. Beekeeping countries, including Armenia, must provide guarantees that certain harmful substances are not used in honey production. These guarantees should be provided as soon as possible to ensure that Armenia remains eligible for exporting honey after September 3, 2026.

Official records of these guarantees should be utilized from September 3, 2024, even if the deadline for the final activities is extended until September 3, 2026. These changes have been implemented to prioritize the well-being of consumers, protect responsible producers, promote the growth of the Armenian honey industry, and maintain the reputation of the product. The details of these changes were provided in a press release.
