In the Fuchzian province of eastern China, approximately 36 individuals have become trapped in a coal mine due to unexpected flooding brought on by heavy rains, according to a report by Xinhua, citing local authorities. The incident occurred at approximately 20:00 on Saturday, resulting in injuries to nearly 180 people who were trapped inside the mine. The estimated economic loss is 12.35 million yuan (approximately 225 million dollars). URGENT: The water level in the underground mining tunnels, as measured from 06:00 to 07:00 on Sunday, was recorded at levels ranging from 0.07 meters to 3.65 meters above the dangerous level. As of 07:00 on Sunday, the water level in seven hydrological stations remained higher than the dangerous level. In light of this, environmentalists are warning residents to exercise caution and prepare for possible evacuations in smaller and medium-sized rivers, as well as urban and rural areas.
