The authorities have declared a state of emergency on Saturday due to a forest fire in the Los Angeles region. The fire, known as the “Post Fire,” has spread to thousands of acres near the main highway and has caused damage to nearby buildings. According to the Associated Press, the fire has encompassed an area of over 14.5 square kilometers, located about 100 km away from Los Angeles, near the Interstate 5 freeway. The fire started around 13:45 local time and the situation is ongoing.
