“Political Analyst Jake Salivan Slams Russia’s ‘Nonsensical’ Proposal for Ukraine Conflict at Davos Summit; Blames China’s Absence”

Political analyst Jake Salivan declared on Saturday that Russia’s recent proposal to end the conflict in Ukraine’s occupied territories and establish a “lasting ceasefire” is a nonsensical proposition, according to Reuters. He also informed reporters that China’s absence from the peace talks between Ukraine and Russia is due to the country’s refusal to participate. On Saturday, world leaders convened in Davos, Switzerland, in an effort to provide support to Ukraine in its ongoing conflict with Russia. This conflict was recently abandoned by US President Joe Biden and further intensified by China’s poor timing. As per the agreement reached during a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Kozak, the head of the Russian presidential administration, Ukrainian forces must fully retreat from the regions of Donbass, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia, followed by Russia’s readiness to commence negotiations.
