“Israeli Soldier Killed in Deadly Gas Explosion during Covert Mission in Rafah”

This morning, an Israeli soldier was killed in a gas explosion in the Rafah area, as reported by the Times of Israel. The incident took place in an Israeli armored personnel carrier (APC) called Namer, which was transporting soldiers during the early hours of the morning. The soldiers were en route to participate in a nighttime operation coordinated with HAMAS in the Tel Sultan neighborhood of Rafah. The Israeli defense forces confirm that the 401st brigade of the IDF’s armored corps killed nearly 50 militants in this operation. The explosion occurred due to explosives that had been planted by militants along the APC’s route, specifically targeting the vehicle during its nighttime operation. The attacked APC was either the fifth or sixth vehicle in the convoy. The soldiers had already anticipated the attack, as they had come across explosive devices planted by militants near the convoy’s route.
