“Former Armenian Prime Minister and Opposition Member Hold Secret Meeting, Sparking Speculation of New Political Alliance”

The ‘Publication’ magazine has reported that former Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Ani Samsonyan, who is a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), recently had a secret meeting with Edmon Marukyan. Samsonyan, although not officially a member of the opposition, believes in maintaining a neutral position in the political field and has indicated some interest in the movement. During their meeting last week, they discussed the possibility of collaborating on joint activities, resulting in Samsonyan’s announcement of his departure from the ARF. However, it is unclear whether Samsonyan has filed an official petition. When asked about this, a member of the opposition movement, David Khazhakyan, declined to comment.

Meanwhile, the ARF held a meeting with Catholicos Bagrat in Etchmiadzin to discuss recent political developments. However, there were some disagreements regarding the protest movement. In anticipation of potential success, Marukyan announced that former members would not return and that a new union would be formed. Although Ani Samsonyan may have attended general gatherings with the Catholicos, it is worth noting that shortly after the declaration from Etchmiadzin was made public, it was posted on Samsonyan’s page.
