On June 12, 2024, at 18:10, the “Ejmiatsin Medical Center” CJSC received a notification regarding a critical medical condition of a resident of the village of Ambarat. The individual had been transferred to the facility due to a hornet sting, but unfortunately, they passed away before receiving medical assistance. The incident has been reported to the RA Investigative Committee.

Based on preliminary information, there was a dispute between the victim’s children and a 43-year-old resident, which led to a fatal confrontation. The suspect used a firearm, causing the victim’s fatal injuries. Law enforcement is currently searching for the suspect, who fled the scene.

The ongoing investigation conducted by the Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee has obtained evidence indicating the use of a firearm at the crime scene. The injured party has been identified and is receiving medical treatment.

A search was conducted at the location of the incident, resulting in the discovery of the suspect’s vehicle, described as an “Opel” with license plates. The vehicle contained shell casings of a 5.45mm caliber AK-74 automatic rifle, as well as two empty cartridge cases belonging to the victim’s firearm.

The investigation is still in progress, with efforts being made to establish the sequence of the crime, clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident, and apprehend the suspect. Additionally, video footage from surveillance cameras in the vicinity of the crime scene is being analyzed.

It is important to note that the individual responsible for the crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in court, following the rules established by the RA Criminal Code.
