The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has recently issued a statement refuting any claims of aggression from the Armenian side in the past two days. Andranik Kocharyan, the Deputy Minister of Defense and representative of the “Civic Contract” party, made this statement during the National Assembly session on June 14.

According to Kocharyan, the conflict’s root cause lies in the need for clarity and transparency from the Azerbaijani side, as well as determining the origin of these incidents. Moreover, he emphasized the importance of identifying the type of artillery used, if any. However, he expressed confidence that no artillery attacks had taken place, highlighting that even in ceasefire conditions, the presence of artillery is not unheard of and might not necessarily indicate provocation but rather a military stance.
