“Anahit Manasyan Recognized as Guardian of Human Rights, Receives Prestigious Canadian Order and Medal in Armenia”

On June 14, Anahit Manasyan, the guardian of human rights, was awarded the Canadian Order and Medal for her contributions to the advancement and protection of human rights in Armenia. The announcement was made by the RA Ministry of Justice.

In attendance at the ceremony were the President of the European Court of Human Rights, Robert Spano, and the legal advisor, Aron Kon.

During her speech, Anahit Manasyan presented the audience with an overview of the protection of human rights in Armenia, including the legal framework, employment priorities, and law enforcement.

A meeting was held in Yerevan with representatives from organizations involved in human rights protection to discuss violations. The Guardian mentioned that on June 12, she visited the Ministry of Defense and the Medical Services, where she met with individuals receiving medical assistance and soldiers working in the Defense Ministry to address their concerns. The Guardian will present her position on the effective use of special measures and the review system based on the research conducted.

The transformation of healthcare, an essential area for the protection of human rights, was also highlighted by the Guardian in terms of monitoring the system’s management of human rights.

Representatives also discussed current issues related to improving the justice system and fighting corruption in the country.

The Guardian’s office has received the signed information, emphasizing their commitment to human rights protection and the importance of ongoing work in this field.

Representatives expressed their gratitude to the Guardian for accepting the invitation and engaging in meaningful discussions.
