“American Coca-Cola Makes Surprising Move: Registers Popular Brands in Russia’s Database”

American beverage company Coca-Cola has recently registered its popular brands Coca-Cola, Fanta, and Sprite in the electronic database of Rospatent, according to reports from Vedomosti. This registration, which took place in April, covers a wide range of products, including carbonated and non-carbonated soft drinks. It falls under classes 32 and 33 of the International Classification of Goods.

Almost two years ago, in March 2022, Coca-Cola had announced its plans to completely withdraw from the Russian market. Subsequently, in June of the same year, the company decided to cease the production and sale of soft drinks bearing its brands.

At that time, Coca-Cola’s product lineup included not only Coca-Cola, Fanta, and Sprite, but also other beverages like BonAqua, Burn, Fuzetea, Rich, Schweppes, and Powerade. Following these changes, Coca-Cola HBC, the distributor, underwent a rebranding and became Multon Partners. It shifted its focus to manufacturing and marketing local products such as “Добрый” (Good), Rich, and “Моя семья” (My Family).
