“US Faces Uncertainty in Assessing Indefinite Ceasefire Status in Karabakh, says Chargé d’Affaires”

The determination of the indefinite ceasefire in Karabakh is still under evaluation, as the United States lacks accurate information on its status. In an interview with Radio Liberty’s Armenian service, US Chargé d’Affaires Jayme O’Brien stated that efforts are being made to achieve the ceasefire by September 2023. International organizations have access to the area and can provide valuable information on the matter. O’Brien urged Yerevan and Baku to address the need for the OSCE Minsk Group’s involvement in the resolution process. He emphasized that the US does not seek to interfere in the region but aims to assist in achieving a long-term peace agreement.
