“Pope Francis I Faces Backlash for Offensive Remarks on Homosexuals: Vatican Spokesman Forced to Apologize”

Pope Francis I has faced criticism for using offensive language when discussing homosexuals at a meeting held at the Vatican. The Vatican spokesman, ANSA, recently announced that during a closed-door meeting, the Pope used an Italian term to describe the LGBT community. It is believed that this term was used during a discussion with Roman Catholic spiritual leaders at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. Previously, it was reported that the Pope had used a similar expression during a separate closed-door meeting with bishops on May 20th. In response to the backlash, the Vatican spokesman issued an apology to those who were offended by the Pope’s choice of words.
