“National Values Take Center Stage as Bagramyan Square Protests Continue”

Many people mistakenly believe that the activities taking place in Bagramyan Square involve singing, dancing, and drinking coffee. However, in reality, it is a manifestation of national unity and pride. During a recent meeting with journalists covering the protests at Bagramyan Square on June 11, Metsakse Hakobyan, a member of the “Justice” party in the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh, spoke about their intentions.

Hakobyan stated, “We have gathered here to safeguard our national values and to foster a sense of national identity. What we witnessed was a stark contrast between the actions of the current government and the dedication shown by the protesters in the park.”

Addressing the claims made by representatives of the CPP (Country People’s Party) asserting that the crowds in the streets do not represent the whole population, Hakobyan responded, “They have failed to set any limits or boundaries. They seem to be exhausted from the ongoing epidemic. We recently heard Hayk Konjoryan from the CEC announcing that they will not participate in an alternative meeting. If they are positioning themselves as a small group of dissenters, they have forgotten that public officials have an obligation to serve the interests of the people. One of those obligations is to participate in the National Assembly sessions and provide a foundation for the public to understand the reasons for the protests and the motivations behind their actions. The protesters are ordinary citizens who have not forgotten their past or their principles.”

It is important to note that the coordinating group “Hayastan” and the “Pan Armenian” initiative held a meeting with the head of the National Assembly yesterday. Their objective was to propose changes to the government’s functioning and the formation of a new government by June 17.

The CPP has since discussed this issue and announced that they will not participate in the regular meeting scheduled for the 17th due to the ongoing epidemic situation.
