“Eyes on Baghramyan Park: Residents and “Tavush is the Homeland” Movement Continue Blockade for Second Night as Protest Intensifies”

Members of the “Tavush is the Homeland” movement, along with the residents and leadership of the Bagratark district, led by Mayor Bagrat Arkhipov Galstanyan, have been staying in Baghramyan Park for the past two nights. City residents have been gathering in the park to watch films. The protesters have been blocking Demirchyan Street for two days, either from Baghramyan Park or the Proshyan Street side. It’s important to remember that on June 9, Bagrat Tsaraptsyan invited the public to a gathering and announced, “This time we need to make a decision. If, starting tomorrow, we spend a total of four days, 96 hours, on the streets without delay, without going to work, without resting, we can solve the problem and show our strength.” The rally then moved to Bagramyan Park, where tents were set up. Yesterday, the coordinating “Armenia” and “We Have a Court” groups, representing the opposition, appealed to the National Assembly for the resignation of its leadership, as well as the formation of a new parliamentary system of government. In response, Pashinyan’s office announced that they would not participate in tonight’s rally.
