The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, announced during a summit in Berlin that the European Union (EU) will begin negotiations to accept Ukraine by the end of June. This decision comes after the Financial Times, citing sources in Brussels, reported that the negotiations would commence on June 25. Originally scheduled for March, the negotiations were delayed to avoid influencing the results of the European Parliament elections held during the same time.
