“Armenian Gambling Organizers to Face 10% Tax on Earnings Over 5 Million Drams, Says Head of State Revenue Committee”

In Armenia, organizers of gambling activities will be required to pay a 10% tax to the state treasury if they earn more than 5 million drams, according to Rustam Badasyan, the head of the State Revenue Committee. This announcement was made during the National Assembly’s discussion on the “Regulation of Gambling Activities” package and related amendments to the legislation. The government has already taken steps to regulate the gambling industry, and now they aim to regulate the taxation of earnings as well. Currently, these earnings are considered non-taxable and are deducted according to the existing Tax Code. Under the new proposal, all remaining earnings will be subjected to an annual calculation method. If there is a positive difference between all bets and winnings received during the year, organizers will be required to declare this amount and pay a 5% tax on it to the state budget.
