The actions of the Polish-Belarusian border guards are in response to the influx of migrants from the Middle East, as confirmed by data from the Polish government.

In response, Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced plans to reinforce the border with new barriers. According to Pavel Zalewski, a spokesperson for the security forces, the goal of these barriers is to prevent any further border crossings, just as Polish border guards prevent them.
