The Yerevan-Sevan highway, which was closed yesterday due to snowfall, has been reopened recently. Specifically, the section of the highway from kilometer 16-18 was closed. Drivers were advised to use alternative routes such as Yerevan-Sevan via Avoyan-Jraberd and Sevan-Yerevan via Charentsavan-Nor Gheki.

It is important to mention that on June 6, at 23:14, the National Crisis Management Center received an alarm about a gas leak on the Yerevan-Sevan highway. Unfortunately, this led to an explosion caused by a gas cylinder leak at the “Gas Oil” LLC gas station located at 6/1 Yerevan-Sevan highway. Preliminary data suggests that the presence of an open flame led to the ignition of the leaked gas.

As a result of the explosion, two individuals, C.S. (born in 1980) and G.Ch. (born in 1991), were transferred to the “Surp Grigor Lusavorich” Medical Center. They were later transferred to the “National Center for Burn Surgery” CJSC, where their condition was evaluated as critical.

In addition, other individuals affected by the incident were taken to the Avoyan medical center. These individuals include L.H. (born in 2007), H.Kh. (born in 2001), M.G. (born in 1989), A.A. (born in 1990), and L.S. (born in 1963). L.H. received appropriate medical treatment and was discharged, while the others were transferred to the “National Center for Burn Surgery” CJSC for further care.

Today, at 08:51, all rescue units have been withdrawn from the scene. The Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been working for three days to eliminate the consequences of the fire and conduct extinguishing operations.

According to “Hetq,” this gas station has been operating without inspection and has faced discontinuation of its operations multiple times without any consequences.
