Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu to Attend Washington Concert, Conflicting Reports on Meeting Schedule

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been invited to attend a concert at the Kennedy Center in the United States Congress on July 24, according to the Times of Israel. The invitation was extended by the Israeli Ambassador to the United States and congressional representatives. Netanyahu, in turn, invited Nechayan Hovhannisyan to the concert. On June 13, Politico announced that the Prime Minister would have a meeting, but Hovhannisyan denied this claim, citing the conflict with the second day of the Shavuot holiday, as reported by The Times of Israel. Hovhannisyan has made appeals to US officials in the past, in 1996, 2011, and 2015.
