A gas supply halt in the town of Abovyan in the Kotayk province was reported as a result of a safety violation incident that occurred on the Yerevan-Sevan highway. The incident, which involved a fire and explosion in a gas pipeline, occurred on June 6. Several individuals were injured and transferred to different medical centers for treatment. The evacuation of residents in the area was completed the following day, and emergency calculations were carried out on-site to ensure the safety of the affected area. Concerns have been raised about the lack of inspections and multiple suspensions of the gas station’s operation.
