“Charents House-Museum Launches Exciting ‘Charents Summer’ Educational Program for Young Students”

Eghishe Charents’ House-Museum in Armenia is hosting the “Charents Summer” educational program from June 7 to September 20. The program is a collaboration between the museum and the Writers’ Union of Armenia and is open to students aged 14-17.

The opening ceremony for the program took place at the Charents House-Museum, with attendees including Alvard Kocharyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Edward Militonyan, the President of the Writers’ Union of Armenia, and Janna Manukyan, the director of the Eghishe Charents House-Museum.

The aim of the program is to provide educational and research activities for students during their summer vacation, while also sparking their interest in scientific research and encouraging their involvement in cultural, literary, and sports activities. Additionally, the program aims to contribute to the development of the Charents Museum and support the intellectual development of younger generations.

Alvard Kocharyan highlighted the importance of education in cultural policy and the efforts being made to strengthen educational programs in libraries. He mentioned the introduction of the “School Library” multifunctional program and the establishment of the Foundation for the Development of Culture. Kocharyan also praised the “Charents Summer” program, stating that it has received positive feedback in previous years and is expected to attract even more attention from schools this year.

Edward Militonyan emphasized the program’s role in enhancing creativity. He emphasized the influence of reading on Charents, noting that his exposure to Armenian and world literature served as the foundation for his valuable literary works. Militonyan believes that teachers and students should actively participate in literary and creative activities to become active participants in the field.

Janna Manukyan, the director of the Eghishe Charents House-Museum, presented the program’s importance, plans, and organization. She explained that the program has three stages: research work, literary discussions, and the publication of materials. Children will have the opportunity to engage in these activities with the support of their teachers and parents throughout the summer. Selected works will be presented at a conference organized by the program’s committee, and the best works will be published.
