“White House Seeks Allies’ Support in Freezing Russian Assets; Urges Global Cooperation for Impactful Results”

The White House announced on Wednesday that it will discuss with allies and other countries the decision to freeze Russian assets worth $300 million in order to assist Ukraine. Reuters reported that John Kildan, an adviser to the White House, stated that this issue is likely to be raised during French President Joe Biden’s visit to France this week, followed by a meeting with G-7 leaders in Italy next week. Kildan emphasized the importance of coordinated actions, highlighting that the United States cannot act alone, as these activities are carried out worldwide. He stated, “Therefore, we need the participation and support of our allies and business partners; otherwise, we will not achieve anything.”
