“Prime Minister Modi’s BJP-led Alliance Secures Majority in Indian Parliament’s Upper House”

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has secured over half of the seats in India’s upper house of Parliament, according to official results. Out of 543 seats, Modi’s coalition has won 276, which accounts for more than 85% of the votes counted from the published data. The NDA, a credible alliance also known as I.N.D.I.A. (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance), includes 28 parties and has secured 205 seats. In the previous 2019 election, the NDA won 353 seats in the upper house, solidifying Modi’s position as Prime Minister for the third time.
