Former Assistant to Armenian Prime Minister Facing Charges for Driving Under the Influence: Report

On May 31, the Office of the President of the Republic of Armenia submitted an application to announce the resident of Tavush province, 35-year-old Tatul Asilyan, according to information obtained from Shamshyan.com. The article in issue 344 of the RA Criminal Code, part 2, is presumed to have violated the right of transportation. This violation includes driving under the influence of alcohol or driving without the right to drive, driving a means of transportation as a person without the right to drive, and driving in a state of impairment due to alcohol consumption or intoxication. The violation resulted in a serious breach of the peace, punishable by one hundred days imprisonment or a shorter-term imprisonment of one to two months, or a longer-term imprisonment of up to two years.

Tatul Asilyan, who was formerly an assistant to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, is known to the public. However, he has since been removed from the “Civil Contract” political party.
