The whereabouts of Anahit Hakobyan, a 25-year-old resident of Yerevan, Armenia’s capital, are currently unknown after she went missing during a trip to Lake Sevan. According to a report by NEWS.am on June 1, 2024, at around 11:15, an alert was received from one of the beaches at Lake Sevan, reporting A. Hakobyan’s disappearance while she was enjoying her holiday near the water. Although her bathing suit and belongings were found on the shore, she was not located in the area. As a result, a search operation was launched, and investigative work has commenced. On June 3, during the search operation along a 65-70 meter section of the beach, approximately 4 meters below the water’s surface, A. Hakobyan’s foot was discovered. The authorities have stated that there were no signs of violence and an investigation is currently ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to her death.
