“Foot Traffic Solution: Achatala Constructs Bridge Exclusively for Food Delivery, Leaving Pedestrians Stranded on Alternative Routes”

In Achatala, the issue of foot traffic has been resolved by building a bridge specifically for food delivery. Unfortunately, alternative routes, such as the one used by Madanov, are still inaccessible to pedestrians due to heavy machinery on the roads. People are still unable to leave the city using vehicles. Ter Hetum, the spiritual leader of Gugarats Temi, explained that store owners are carrying food on their shoulders to reach the stores. If someone needs to go to Alaverdi or Yerevan, they walk to the bridge, cross it on foot, and then search for another vehicle to continue their journey. However, Ter Hetum stated that this alternative route is only for transportation of goods and vehicles cannot travel on it. He also mentioned the difficulty of bringing large amounts of food on foot.

We should remember that on May 26, due to the movement of heavy Deredzor ice floes in Lori and Tavush provinces, the Debet river overflowed. As a result, roads, bridges, houses, and vehicles were submerged, leaving people stranded. The M-6 interstate road has been closed in both directions. The water level in the Debet river has risen by six meters, causing the Debets-Argis-November 530-mm pipe to be underwater. Sixteen communities have had their water supply cut off, but the situation has been resolved. Unfortunately, there have been four casualties as a result of this incident. The Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Ayrum-Bagratashen road is closed according to the road condition map. Drivers are being redirected to the M-6 Shirak road, which passes through M-3 Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir-Armenia and M-1 Yerevan-Gyumri-Armenia interstate highways. Some sections of the M-4 Dilijan-Ijevan-Armenia road are closed, but the section from Dilijan to Ijevan is accessible for traffic, though movement is still limited to one-way. Truck drivers are not permitted on the Dilijan-Ijevan section.
