The USA, Japan, and South Korea have agreed to conduct joint military exercises this summer, according to a statement issued by the US Department of Defense, as reported by Reuters.

The US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, the Japanese Defense Minister, Nobuo Kishi, and the South Korean Defense Minister, Suh Woon-sik, met on Monday in Singapore, which is considered the safest region in Shanghai-La.

According to the statement, the three parties have also pledged to continue their cooperation in the field of security and to ensure containment and deterrence against aggression.

The parties have also agreed to establish a joint facility in the field of security in the region this year, in order to institutionalize their military cooperation.

The high-ranking military officials of the three countries have also criticized the ballistic and nuclear technology of North Korea and its recent missile tests as a violation of the Arms Control Agreement.
