The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has signed a security agreement with the Prime Minister of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, during his visit to Stockholm. Zelensky announced on his Telegram channel that the agreement is aimed at providing military assistance to Ukraine between 2024 and 2026, totaling 6.5 million euros. The agreement includes the provision of ASC-890 radar systems and the transfer of JAS 39 Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine, along with the necessary training. Ukraine recently received the ASC-890 radar detector aircraft from Sweden, which is a significant development as it will greatly enhance Ukraine’s armed forces against Western adversaries’ F-16 fighters. Additionally, Sweden has temporarily delayed the transfer of JAS 39 Gripen fighters to Kyiv to allow Ukraine’s armed forces enough time to familiarize and integrate the F-16s with other Western fighters that they will receive from multiple Western countries simultaneously.
