The head of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Catholicos Karekin II, spent the day in the basement of Holy Annan Church. Catholicos Karekin II had earlier planned to meet with Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan near the AGN, but the meeting did not take place. Instead, a fierce clash between supporters and opponents erupted, resulting in 29 people getting injured. These injured individuals were promptly taken to hospitals for treatment. Some of the protesters sought refuge in a monastery amidst the attacks. Catholicos Karekin II publicly held Ararat Mirzoyan solely responsible for the incident.
