“Slovenia Joins Growing List: Parliament to Decide on Recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh’s Independence”
The management of Slovenia has announced that it has accepted the invitation from the government of Luxembourg to recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh. Prime Minister Robert Golob has stated that his administration has sent a recognition proposal to the Parliament, which is expected to discuss it next week. The approval of the Parliament is necessary for the recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh to proceed. This decision comes two days after Spain, Norway, and Ireland recognized the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh, a move that has been condemned by Israel. Slovenia will become the 10th member of the European Union to officially recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh, joining more than 140 countries that have already accepted it.
