“Major Road Collapse Disrupts Traffic in Ararat Province: Drivers Re-routed Amidst Erosion Chaos”

In the Ararat province near the village of Getapnya, a portion of the road leading to the town of Kamarjihot has collapsed due to erosion. This has resulted in the suspension of traffic, particularly for overloaded vehicles.

According to the Highway Department, the closed section specifically refers to the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Ayrum-Bagratashen road. As an alternative, drivers are advised to take the M-6 route when crossing the border with Georgia. This involves using the inter-state roads M-3 Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir and M-1 Yerevan-Gyumri.

The section of the M-4 Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan road, starting from Dilijan up to Ijevan, is currently accessible. However, it should be noted that in certain areas, traffic is restricted to one-way only.

Furthermore, the two-way road in the villages of Khashtarak and Lusahovit is temporarily closed to traffic.
