On May 29, Armenia’s Minister of Defense, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, met with Italy’s Minister of Defense and the Deputy Secretary-General of NATO, Edmond Chiracelli, in Rome. According to the Armenian Ministry of Defense, this meeting was reported by NEWS.am.

During the meeting, they discussed various issues, including defense and security cooperation. Harutyunyan highlighted the “Fortress of Goodness” project, organized by the Government of Armenia, as a great opportunity for Italian companies to participate.

The Defense Ministers of Armenia and Italy also addressed the Armenia-EU cooperation agenda, recent developments in peacekeeping missions, and issues regarding cooperation between the EU and Eastern Partnership countries.

They also exchanged views on regional matters, with Harutyunyan providing updates on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border situation and cooperation between EU countries.

Both parties agreed to continue their constructive dialogue and cooperation.
