“Armenia’s Ararat Province Gripped by Intense Standoff as Resident Sets Fires and Evades Authorities”

An emergency situation occurred in the Ararat province on May 27, with fires breaking out. According to SHAMSHYAN.com, a 46-year-old resident named Gor Vardanyan was evacuated from a building on that day. Officials tried to negotiate with Vardanyan for around 5 hours to meet the demands of the emergency service workers, but he refused to leave the house and instead went to the emergency department in the Ararat province.

During the 5-hour negotiation, Vardanyan started several fires and eventually managed to escape from the authorities at 09:00 in the morning, moving to the emergency department in the Ararat province. It has been revealed that Vardanyan possessed a homemade flamethrower with two barrels filled with a gasoline mixture of 5.45mm. Additionally, during the state of emergency, 11 homemade flamethrowers, a closed ammunition box, black fabric gloves, and other items were seized.

According to Vardanyan, he made the flamethrower himself, similar to the one used during the incident, and also prepared a ladder for setting fire to the emergency department and the gas station. The Ararat provincial administration and the regional police have been involved in military operations in response to the situation.
