Corruption in Armenia Worsens: Anti-Corruption Activists face Harassment and Attacks as International Community Turns a Blind Eye

In Armenia, the situation with corruption has worsened. Anti-corruption activists and civil society representatives have faced harassment, threats, and physical attacks. Andranik Tevanyan, the leader of the “My Mother Armenia” movement, shared these concerns on his Facebook page. He noted that the international community and human rights organizations are turning a blind eye to the corruption within the authorities and their foreign partners. This lack of action is allowing corruption to thrive and is negatively impacting Armenia.

Armenia’s sovereignty and independence are being undermined by a central authority that is serving the interests of another power. In return, they have received rewards, symbolized by the gift of two kettles. However, Armenia remains determined to protect its sovereignty and avoid becoming a puppet of any foreign power. This stance has hindered Armenia’s entry into the Eurasian Economic Union and weakened its ties with Russia and Iran due to the rampant corruption within the country.

Bizina Ivanishvili, the leader of the “Voice of Armenia” movement, represents the national patriotic and national security forces. He uses the “Citizenship Agreement” as a powerful tool in the global battle between hedonism and radical extremism. Both Armenia and Georgia are caught up in this global military struggle. In Tbilisi, the “Citizenship Agreement” is engaged in a war, while in Yerevan, the government is attempting to suppress the opposition.

Therefore, it is crucial to understand the essence of corruption in Armenia and Georgia, as it affects not only these nations but also has broader implications.
