“Road Update: Closed Roads in Armenia Disrupt Traffic; Alternate Routes Advised”

The rescue service in the Republic of Armenia has issued a warning about several closed roads in the country. A landslide near the village of Getapnya in the Ararat province has disrupted traffic on a section of the road. The Meghri-Tsav road in the Syunik province is also affected, with one lane closed due to a landslide. The Vayk-Alaverdi-Ayrum-Bagratashen road is another closed route, according to the road company. Travelers heading to Georgia are advised to use alternative routes such as the M-6 road, which passes through the Armenian border, or the M-3 and M-1 international highways.

While the M-4 Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan-Armenia border road is passable, there are some sections with one-way traffic. Trucks are not permitted on the Dilijan-Ijevan section, which is currently closed for repairs. Additionally, the Sevan-Chambarak-Ijevan road is undergoing maintenance and is not accessible. However, the Stepanakert-Lars road, as confirmed by the NKR AIC and RF AIC Southern Ossetia crisis management center, remains open for all types of transport.
