“Nikol Pashinyan Takes Charge: Emergency Meeting Held to Address Devastation Caused by Operation Activity”

Nikol Pashinyan convened an emergency meeting in Lori and Tavush to address the situation regarding ongoing operations. During a televised address, Pashinyan provided updates on the progress made and highlighted the consequences of the fighting. He specifically mentioned the collapse of constructions and roads. It’s worth noting that on May 26, following an attack in Lori and Tavush, the Debed River was declared a disaster area. This led to roads, bridges, houses, and cars being submerged underwater, necessitating the evacuation of residents. As a result, the M-6 interstate road has been closed in both directions. Recently, heavy rainfall caused a 6-meter increase in the water level of the Debed River. This rise disrupted water supply to 16 communities along the 530mm Alaverdi-Arjish-November channel, although services have since been restored. Tragically, there have been four casualties as a result of this incident. According to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, as of 8:00 am today, water levels in various parts of the river were lower compared to the same time yesterday. For example, the water level in Ayrum measured 105 cm, while in Joraget it was 70 cm. In Pambak, the level stood at 50 cm, and in Tashir, it was 57 cm. Minister of Emergency Situations, Feliks Tsolakyan, acknowledged in an interview with NEWS.am that the extent of the disaster is yet to be assessed but is undoubtedly significant.
