“NGO-N Releases Updated Information on Rescue Efforts in Flooded Lori and Tavush Regions”

NGO-N has provided an update on the situation in the Lori and Tavush regions following the flooding of the Debet, Aghstev, and Dzaghig rivers. The rescue operations began on May 27th at 7:30 am. A total of 75 rescuers, 13 military personnel, and 3 operational teams from the National Crisis Response Division were deployed to assist. So far, 429 individuals from various settlements in Lori and Tavush have been evacuated and rescued, with 387 individuals from Lori and 42 individuals from Tavush being relocated.

In Aghstev, four people have been found alive: Avag Avagyan (born 1948), Saribek Balyan (born 1985), Gnel Zakaryan (born 1964), and Gagik Nazlukhanyan (born 1964).

Efforts are currently underway to relocate the residents of Sanahin living in the affected area, as well as to dismantle flooded buildings and clear debris caused by the landslide in Arghat village.
