NATO Delegates Turn to UK Cardinal Jens Stoltenberg for Increased Funding, Requesting 100 Billion Euros from Member Countries for Ukraine Assistance

NATO delegates are requesting additional funding from UK Cardinal Jens Stoltenberg for the alliance. They are asking member countries to contribute 100 billion euros over the next five years to establish a fund for Ukraine’s assistance. The matter regarding French and German involvement in this issue is still undecided, as reported by Politico.

Sources have revealed that representatives from Ukraine have expressed growing concerns in recent weeks about the lack of progress in the Stockholm plan and are seeking clarity on when and how this significant amount of money will be received. These countries consider themselves to be under a “greater threat” from NATO’s AG leaders’ meeting, which is scheduled to be held in Pravas on May 30-31.

The publication highlights that it is currently unknown whether Germany and France will support this plan. While the French administration is committed to protecting expenses related to EMU security and not those within NATO territory, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz does not intend to exceed the financial commitments already made by the German government based on the agreement reached with Germany. An unnamed official from a friendly country to Russia stated that Ukraine itself “will not be surprised” if the 100 billion euros are not fully utilized.
