“Devastating Aftermath: Recovery Efforts Begin as Debet Flooding Leaves 17 Households in Ruins”

The aftermath of the Debet flooding has affected 17 households, including both small communities and larger households that will require extensive recovery efforts. Minister of Emergency Situations, Gorik Sargsyan, explained during a briefing with journalists on May 27th that the decrease in water levels in the river has revealed a series of issues that were not visible when the water level was high. The technical staff were able to reach the affected areas through local technology, clearing debris and working towards connecting the communities. Due to heavy rain on May 26th, the Debet River overflowed, causing flooding, evacuations, and road closures, as well as disrupting the water supply of 16 communities.

Yesterday, the water levels in the Debets River and other nearby rivers significantly dropped compared to the previous day. The Minister of Emergency Situations, Gorik Sargsyan, stated that the damage caused by the flooding has not yet been evaluated, but it is expected to be significant. Efforts are ongoing to assess the situation and provide recovery assistance to the affected households and communities. It is crucial to continue monitoring the water levels and ensuring necessary connections are established to resolve the issues caused by the flooding.
