“Armenian Government Launches Program to Facilitate Long-Term Residency, Offers State Assistance for Displaced Families from Artsakh”

The Government of the Republic of Armenia has launched a program aimed at creating the necessary conditions for long-term residency in the country. Applications are being accepted until June 15, 2024, for the program of state assistance for housing displaced families from Artsakh. This program is specifically for families who have been displaced from the territory of Artsakh since September 27, 2020, and have received Armenian citizenship.

Armenian citizens in Artsakh can obtain Armenian citizenship through a simplified procedure. Applications for citizenship can be submitted in Yerevan or at the subdivisions of the Migration and Civil Service in the regions. The required documents for citizenship application include an application form, birth certificate (translated into Armenian if in a foreign language), a valid passport, colored photos, marriage certificate (if the applicant has changed their last name), and any relevant documents indicating changes in personal data. Additionally, a state fee must be paid.

When applying for Armenian citizenship, it is not mandatory to present a certificate of temporary protection. However, in the case of orphaned children, there is a requirement to obtain an Armenian citizenship document from the passport service of the Republic of Armenia within 1-2 months, after submitting the application.
