On May 26, at 15:49, the national emergency management center received a distress call reporting a fire in the city of Tsaghkadzor, located in the Kotayk province. The immediate assistance of firefighters was deemed necessary. Consequently, the rescue service of the Republic of Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (RA MES) was promptly dispatched to the scene.

The incident occurred within the operational group of the RA MES rescue service, which swiftly responded to the situation. It has been reported that the fire originated in the nearby forests and rapidly spread, engulfing an estimated area of approximately 200 square kilometers. Nonetheless, the dedicated efforts of the rescuers enabled them to successfully contain the fire within a span of approximately 15 hours.
