Journalist and Human Rights Defender Gina Modares Gorji Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison by Iranian Court, Reports Hengaw

The Iranian court has sentenced journalist and defender of human rights, Gina Modares Gorji, according to reports from the human rights organization Hengaw. She has been imprisoned for various charges, including creating an opposition group with the goal of overthrowing the government, collaborating with terrorist groups and organizations, and propagating against the regime. With time served, she has received a 10-year prison sentence. Additionally, Gina Modares Gorji has been accused of organizing feminist campaigns to spread anti-government propaganda, participating in protests and expressing criticism, distributing derogatory material, participating in international conferences and seminars, and creating chaos within society after the death of Mahsa Amini. She is also charged with spreading false information and inciting violence against people. The case has been transferred to the second revolutionary court of Sanandaj.
