The recent flood of the Debed River has caused significant damage, although the exact extent is yet to be assessed. According to a statement made by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Suren Papikyan, during a briefing, the damage is considerable. The infrastructure, including internal roads, bridges, community roads, power lines, gas pipelines, water reservoirs, irrigation canals, and drinking water pipelines, has suffered significant losses. In addition, private properties such as houses, warehouses, vehicles, and shops have been affected. Even tunnels and aqueducts have been filled with water, making them impassable in certain areas. In some locations, such as Alaverdi, landslides have occurred as a result of the flood. Emergency services have been dispatched to provide relief and necessities to those affected.
