The person responsible for the shooting and hostage situation in an apartment building in Stuttgart, Germany, has been identified as Leshi Alkhanyan, a 59-year-old individual, as reported by Russian newspaper Kommersant. Preliminary information suggests that Alkhanyan suffered from a mental illness and had received treatment for it multiple times. The incident occurred on May 25 in the Naurodny district of Stuttgart, when the assailant targeted a tobacco shop salesman whom he had noticed smoking in a public area two weeks earlier.
