Mkhitar Gyurjyan, the mayor of Martakert, was arrested two months ago, according to his lawyer, Arsen Babayan. The arrest came after a two-month investigation conducted by the court, led by Judge David Aghramanyan. The charges against Gyurjyan were being looked into by the court.

Recently, Ruben Melikyan, a government representative, announced that a political settlement was underway in Artsakh, with the participation of mayors from different cities. These mayors had attended a meeting with Catholicos Bagrat Srbazan.

It is worth mentioning that the mayor of Stepanakert has also been arrested today, and a domestic search was conducted at the residence of the mayor of Askeran.
