Yerevan mayor Hayk Shamiryan has made significant improvements in document management, including digitization, simplification, and reducing their size, according to NEWS.am citing the RA Investigative Committee.

Based on official documents obtained during an investigation initiated by the RA Investigative Committee on May 22, 2024, it was revealed that there were criminal activities involving the management of the RA Investigative Committee’s budget in collaboration with the leadership of the RA NSS. These activities violated the rights of individuals and their official duties. Initial evidence of corruption was found regarding Hayk Sh., who received a significant amount of property income from another person by undervaluing the price of a car and manipulating official statements.

On January 23, 2024, a transportation agreement was unlawfully concluded, resulting in the undervaluation of property by Hayk Sh. He transferred a significant amount of money to his father through the undervaluation of the car price.

The investigation is ongoing, focusing on bribery and forgery of documents. In addition, other properties, including the undervaluation of the “UAZ HUNTER” car, are being examined.

Earlier, it was reported that Yerevan mayor Hayk Shamiryan was elected as a form of punishment for embezzlement. He was arrested, and his subordinates were questioned in his apartment.
