Minister of Education and Science Celebrates Academic Achievements at Armavir Province’s Number 1 School

It is a festive day as leaders of general education institutions gather to celebrate the end of the academic year by presenting awards and certificates to schools. On this occasion, the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, Arayik Harutyunyan, visited the number 1 school in Armavir province along with the mayors of Arginak and Bagaran. The minister expressed gratitude to the educators and congratulated them on their success, achievements, and victories in the new stage of their lives. He emphasized the importance of cherishing every moment of this day and sharing the joy with colleagues, teachers, and parents.

During the visit, it was also mentioned that the new middle school in Arginay, being a part of the Ministry of Education and Science’s program, will be completed this year to serve three communities. With the hope that this development will increase the number of students in the school, the mayor emphasized the importance of creating new conditions for quality education, fostering good citizenship, and contributing to the development and strengthening of the country.

In the case of Bagaran’s middle school, attention was focused on the need to provide for the 8th grades. The mayor praised the students for their perseverance and acknowledged the difficulties they have overcome through their acquired knowledge and experiences gained at school. Additionally, it was announced that by the 2023/24 academic year, 20,554 students will complete the 12th grade in public general education schools of Armenia, while 39,406 students will graduate from the 9th grade. Notably, the 9th and 12th grade students in the Syunik province will be taking the state graduation exam for the first time in the 2023-2024 academic year. A total of 1,678 9th graders and 1,045 12th graders will graduate from the public education system according to state standards.
