“Pashinyan’s Latest Border Move Raises Questions: Azerbaijan Claims Rightful Ownership as Political Analyst Warns of Fictitious Enemy”

Yesterday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made another attempt to clarify the country’s borders by presenting a 1976 map. The question remains, did Azerbaijan sign the document agreeing to carry out the process of border delimitation and demarcation based on this map? In an interview with NEWS.am, political analyst Arishty Kiviryan expressed his views on the matter, stating, “This time, Pashinyan has shifted the Tsavush section according to Azerbaijan’s map. Is he searching for treasures there? Azerbaijan rightfully claims what belongs to them, not based on fabricated maps.”

According to Kiviryan, based on Azerbaijan’s perspective, Armenia also lays claim to parts of Turkey, Russia, and Iran. The analyst pointed out that Armenia is currently facing significant challenges, largely attributed to Pashinyan’s leadership, which he believes is focused on creating an imaginary enemy. “This time, he has declared war on the mountains near Kessaria, which have a long history of transformations. Pashinyan himself is responsible for spreading fictional and real disinformation about Armenia,” Kiviryan added.

The political analyst emphasized that Armenia and its Armenian identity were established through an ongoing state of occupation, rather than through historical battles. He noted that the occupation of Karabakh had been recognized by over 40 countries, but the level of insecurity faced by Armenia now is comparable to the danger Azerbaijan experienced before Pashinyan’s presidency.
