Armenian Apostolic Church Urged to Utilize Untapped Agricultural Lands for the Country’s Benefit, says Head of “Civil Contract”

The head of the “Civil Contract” political group, Artur Hovhannisyan, recently made an announcement during a meeting of the National Assembly on May 23. He stated that the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC) may possess unused agricultural lands that have the potential to benefit the government. Hovhannisyan believes that the church should collaborate with the government to help alleviate the financial crisis. He emphasized that as Christians, it is essential for them to actively engage and not be indifferent. Hovhannisyan also highlighted the significant role the AAC plays in the country and expressed the need to explore all sources of financial support for Armenia, given demographic changes and the development of state institutions. It’s worth noting that such statements began to surface after the initiation of the “Holy Homeland” project by the leader of the Tsavush team.
